Overview of the Web Development Process

1	Initial Discussion. The new client will give Hexmatrix an idea of what they want for their web site. The client includes a summary of each page they want. What is the purpose of the site? Does it have a name? Is the desired domain name available? Is there an existing color scheme or logo? What kind of pictures, statistics, graphs, quotes, etc. might enrich the presentation? The client will brainstorm with HexMatrix, meeting in person, on the phone, and via e-mail.
2	Bid. HexMatrix prepares a bid for the web site. The bid will include a breakdown of how much time it will take for each task that needs to be done. HexMatrix will submit the bid to the client along with a Web Development contract.
3	Contract. If the terms are mutually agreeable, the client and HexMatrix sign the contract. Work begins.
4	Content. HexMatrix receives all content material from the client. The client can just open a Word Doc, and type up everything they want to appear on each web page. There are three other forms of content which are very helpful in making the site come alive. These are photography, quotes, and statistics. Any photos the client provide, will enhance the page and make it more unique and engaging to view. The client can scan these or mail them to HexMatrix to be scanned. Similarly, quotes from the client or their customers or others can be brought out in larger or colored text to emphasize a point. Statistics, charts, graphs, etc are also very helpful in making the pages come alive.
5	Web Site Creation. HexMatrix creates the web site, doing graphic design, layout, color scheming, navigational controls, etc. HexMatrix will register or transfer your domain name, set up your email, do the graphic design and layout, and insert your content.
6	Promotion. Optionally, HexMatrix can publicize the web site for the client when it's done. HexMatrix will register the client site with all major search engines so that a worldwide or locally targeted audience can find you.
